Meet the Library Staff
Linda Dyer is the elementary school library clerk. She has worked in the grade school library for eleven years. Mrs. Dyer lives with her husband Steve. They have two children, Shannon and Brett. Mrs. Dyer's favorite part of working in the library is watching how the students' reading levels improve. Her favorite books are Berenstain Bears books, which Mrs. Dyer and her husband always read to their own children. The bear books always teach a good lesson about life to children and adults.
Arcola C.U.S.D #306 is a proud member of the Lincoln Trails Library LINC System. LINC is a library consortium with 95 member libraries in 9 counties in East Central Illinois. As members, Arcola students and staff can borrow library materials, including books, films, and music from any of these libraries. Check out the library catalog for more information. Talk to the Library Media Specialist for help using the catalog.
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a reading program used by students grades 2 through 12 to boost reading ability. A student reads a book, and after completing it, takes a short quiz on the book. The student receives instant feedback on their quiz score, and the student's teacher is able to view quiz results and track reading progress. Most of the books in the elementary and jr. high/high school library have A.R. quizzes, but some do not. Click the link below to find out if a book is AR.
