Excellence: An Arcola Tradition

Arcola School District is comprised of two complexes – Arcola Elementary School (K-6 with 430 students) and Arcola Jr. Sr. High (7-12 with 312 students)

Our campus complex sits on a city block of land complete with grand old oak trees. Arcola High School graduated its first class in 1881. The current building, constructed in 1916, has been preserved and kept functional, thanks to several decades of dedicated maintenance. Its hallways and classrooms echo of former young lives changed by their time there.

In 1996, the district constructed an addition of 7th and 8th  grade  classrooms and a new science lab. In 2004, a 40,000 sq.ft. addition was completed with ample space for expansion. The new facility includes a state of the art Media Center with 2 classroom-size computer labs, Bilingual and special needs classrooms, a fine arts wing, a new Jr. High Gym, racquetball court and free weight training room.

In Spring 2005, the Arcola community passed an essential tax levy referendum for the education fund renewing the community’s support to provide a strong financial base and stability for the Arcola District.

It is with great pride that I serve the Arcola School District. We hope our website is easy to navigate and provides you with the information you need.  Please feel free to contact me about any issues regarding the district at jchrostoski@arcolaschools.com, place a phone call at 217-268-4963 or stop by at 351 West Washington, Arcola, IL.
