Attention Please parents/guardians of Arcola Elementary School Students!

During the week of March 11-15, 2019, All elementary students will engage in a one-time presentation given by a school counselor to discuss prevention of abuse, body safety and assertiveness.  This is a State of Illinois mandated presentation for “Erin’s Law”.

Erin’s Law” requires that all public schools in each state implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program which teaches prevention of abuse, body safety and assertiveness.

If you DO NOT wish for your child to participate, please return the Erin’s Law permission slip provided by your child’s teacher.  These are being sent home with your child. This slip is due February 28, 2019 ONLY IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE.

If you would like more information regarding Erin’s Law, please go to www.erinslaw.org, or call Mel Ashmore, Arcola School District Social Worker at (217) 268-4963, Option #3 and I would be glad to answer any questions for you.
