Congratulations to Oscar Aguilar for being the 9th hour class Bowling Champion

Earth Day is approaching and we are selling Earth Day t-shirts in remembrance of Marcia McQueen. Marcia worked here for over 20 years and taught 6th grade Science. She loved the color purple, turtles, scuba diving etc. and these shirts scream Marcia. Pick up an order form outside the High School office.

Friday, March 15 – Schedule of Madness

·         8:00-9:30 - Spring Sports pictures in the JH Gym

·         10:30 - 11:00 Drama Club Spring Play preview - JH Gym - Students will report to 4th               hour for attendance at 10:27 and then report to the JH Gym

·         12:36 - All students will report to 7th hour for attendance - All students may be                         released at 12:40 to report to the High School Gym for the assembly

·         12:45-1:30 - Miss Illinois Assembly - All students will attend this assembly

·         1:30-1:45 - There will be a short break for questions, autographs, restroom break, set              up for hypnotist, etc. Students who do not qualify for the 3rd quarter celebration                will report to Mrs. Hull's room at that time.

·         1:45-2:55 - 3rd Quarter PBIS Celebration Assembly - Hypnotist

·         2:55-3:00 - Hand out report cards

 

**Students- don’t forget to bring your tokens and cash to purchase water, candy, and chips. You can get candy or water for $1 each or 1 token.

Student Opportunities:

Census jobs need to be filled. This would be a great opportunity for students because they can earn 14.00 an hour and work as many hours and any hours they would like even evenings and weekends. Applicants must be 18 by the beginning of August in order to apply.  Call 1-855-JOB-2020 for more information.

Camp New Hope is currently looking for staff for the 2019 Summer Camp. There are a variety of positions available that need to be filled from counselors, cooks, to a nurse. Camp New Hope is hoping to recruit both students and even current staff for some of these positions.  See the guidance office for a detailed list of opportunities and contact information.

 

Club Announcements:

Arcola Drama Club proudly presents "Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit" as the AHS spring play. Follow familiar fairy tale characters as they investigate a crime and then try the accused criminal in a fairy tale court of law. Can you solve the crime before the characters do? Come see the spring play this weekend, admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

THE YEARBOOK RAFFLE IS ON! Each High School student has a packet of yearbook raffle tickets to sell to pay for their own yearbook. If you have already ordered your yearbook, you can still participate- just follow the directions inside the packet. This is a 3-week sale and the prizes for the raffle are cash. See Miss Coombe or Mrs. Kessler if you have any questions! All tickets and money are due Wednesday 03/27/19, and the drawing is Friday 03/29/19.

The High School Student Council is hosting a Blood Drive on April 4th. A parent permission form is required for anyone that’s 16 years of age. To get a permission form and to sign up to donate contact Hector Lozano, Mason Myers, Myles Roberts, Fabiola Jaramillo, Myrka Alanis, Jacob Butler, Jordan Melton, and Ben Crane.
