About Mr. Retz

    Mr. Retz Graduated from St. Joseph-Ogden High School where he then went to Danville Area Community College on a full scholarship to run cross country and track.  After graduating he went on to Eastern Illinois University where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Physical Education and Athletic Administration.  As a graduate assistant at EIU he received the "Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award for Teaching Pedagogy."  This award was voted on by his professors. 

    Mr. Retz taught at Carl Sandberg Elementary School in Charleston IL while receiving his Masters Degree.  He had also coached Charleston High School Girls Track and Field program for two years where his teams won two conference titles and has taken one relay and two individual runners to the state track and field meet.  Seven of his former athletes have gone on to compete at the college level.

   Mr. Retz teaches at Arcola High School where his wife also teaches.  He coaches Jr. High Girls Basketball, Jr. High Girls Volleyball, and also High School Men's Track and Field.
