8th Grade Promotion Plan 2020

Dear 8th Grade Students and Families:
The school year is quickly coming to a close and in a few short months you will be starting high school! I am very excited to congratulate each of you next week during the promotion ceremony on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. Please read over the information below for the ceremony details.
8th Grade Drive By Promotion Ceremony
We will celebrate the promotion of our 8th graders on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. during a “drive by” promotion ceremony.
The 8th graders and their parents will gather at the south side of the high school at 6:30 p.m., where they will remain in their cars.
Beginning at 7:00 p.m., I will begin the ceremony with some opening remarks followed by the conferring of the diplomas.
Each car will then drive out of the south exit to the lot and drive around to the front entrance of the school by the high school office. A staff member will be present to direct cars to the appropriate location.
The 8th grade student will be allowed to exit the car to pick up their promotion certificate and have their picture taken. Parents and family members must remain in their cars.
Pictures will be available for parents to download free of charge.
The name of each 8th grade student will be announced as they pose for their picture.
Each student will then pick up an envelope containing award certificates and two copies of the ceremony program. In addition, each student will receive a gift bag of special gifts from the staff at Arcola Junior High.
Junior High staff members will line the sidewalk and cheer for the students as they receive their promotion certificates.
Each car will then continue along the path by the grade school playground and exit on Diamond Street.
This event will be videotaped and air on Facebook Live in addition to posting on YouTube.
8th Grade Promotion Party
If the current restrictions are lifted this summer and we are allowed to host an event, we will make every effort to host an 8th grade promotion party for the students.

Estimados estudiantes y familias de octavo grado:
El año escolar está llegando a su fin rápidamente y en unos pocos meses comenzarán la escuela secundaria! Estoy muy emocionada de felicitarlos a cada uno de ustedes la próxima semana durante la ceremonia de promoción el jueves 21 de mayo a las 7:00 pm. Lea la información a continuación para conocer los detalles de la ceremonia.
Ceremonia de promoción de 8º grado Drive By
Celebraremos la promoción de nuestros alumnos de 8º grado el jueves 21 de mayo a las 7:00 pm. durante una ceremonia de promoción "drive by".
Los alumnos de octavo grado y sus padres se reunirán en el lado sur de la escuela secundaria
a las 6:30 pm, donde permanecerán en sus autos.
Comenzando a las 7:00 pm, comenzaré la ceremonia con algunos comentarios de apertura seguidos de la entrega de los diplomas.
Luego, cada automóvil conducirá desde la salida sur hacia el estacionamiento y conducirá hacia la entrada principal de la escuela junto a la oficina de la escuela secundaria. Un miembro del personal estará presente para dirigir los autos al lugar apropiado.
El estudiante de octavo grado podrá salir del auto para recoger su certificado de promoción y tomarse una fotografía. Los padres y los miembros de la familia deben permanecer en sus autos.
Las fotos estarán disponibles para que los padres las descarguen sin cargo.
El nombre de cada estudiante de octavo grado se anunciará mientras posan para su fotografía.
Luego, cada estudiante recogerá un sobre con certificados de premio y dos copias del programa de la ceremonia. Además, cada estudiante recibirá una bolsa de regalos especiales del personal de Arcola Junior High.
Los miembros del personal de Junior High se alinearán en la acera y animarán a los estudiantes mientras reciben sus certificados de promoción.
Luego, cada automóvil continuará a lo largo del camino por el patio de la escuela primaria y saldrá en Diamond Street.
Este evento se grabará en video y se transmitirá en Facebook Live, además de publicarse en YouTube.
Fiesta de promoción del 8º grado
Si se levantan las restricciones actuales este verano y se nos permite organizar un evento, haremos todo lo posible para organizar una fiesta de promoción del 8º grado para los estudiantes.
