The US Department of Agriculture just announced that they extended a waiver that will positively impact all of our school families in Arcola. Starting now and lasting until December 31, 2020, ALL children in the school district are eligible to receive FREE breakfast and lunch daily from school. No student will be charged a fee for lunch or for breakfast.
As a school district, we strongly encourage our students to take advantage of this new and exciting change.
This is great news for our school district because we have launched a whole new food service program this year with new recipes and new variety. The feedback we have been receiving from students and staff has been great!
K-12 In Person Learners
If your student is attending school in person and is in grade K-12, the procedures will remain the same. The students wanting to eat breakfast just need to go to the cafeteria between 7:20 – 7:50 am and eat breakfast. They will remain in the cafeteria until dismissed to class.
Students in Grades K-6 will simply need to tell their teacher in the morning whether or not they want a school lunch. The lunches will be delivered to the classroom and the students will take home the lunch with them.
Students in Grades 7 – 12 will let their first hour teacher know they want to eat lunch and then they will be dismissed to pick up the lunch in the cafeteria before leaving school.
Remote Learners
Remote families were given a choice for meal delivery. Meal service will continue as it currently is for families that already selected delivery through this week.
With this new waiver, the school can provide meals for any children ages 1 through age 18. For those already receiving meals, this may change your original response. Because of this, we need everyone to complete a new form for meal service.
All children that select meal service will receive lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following day. If you elect food service, you must receive both.

Estudiantes en persona de K-12
Si su estudiante asiste a la escuela en persona y está en el grado K-12, los procedimientos seguirán siendo los mismos. Los estudiantes que quieran desayunar solo necesitan ir a la cafetería entre las 7:20 - 7:50 am y desayunar. Permanecerán en la cafetería hasta que se les despida a clases.

Alumnos remotos
A las familias remotas se les dio la opción de entregar la comida al hogar. El servicio de comidas continuará como lo es actualmente para las familias que ya seleccionaron la entrega durante esta semana.
Con esta nueva exoneración, la escuela puede proporcionar comidas para cualquier niño de 1 a 18 años de edad. Para aquellos que ya reciben comidas, esto puede cambiar su respuesta original. Debido a esto, necesitamos que todos completen un nuevo formulario para el servicio de comidas.
Todos los niños que seleccionen el servicio de comidas recibirán almuerzo para el día actual y desayuno para el día siguiente. Si elige el servicio de alimentos, debe recibir ambos.
