Based on new guidelines released by the Illinois Department of Public Health regarding spectator gatherings, the Arcola School District will be implementing the following procedures for all IESA/IHSA Home Events moving forward.

Varsity Football Contests

These general guidelines apply for all spectators attending the outdoor event:

  • All spectators must be symptom free from covid-like symptoms
  • There will be no admission fee
  • MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES
  • All spectators that sit in the stands will be required to sit in pairs (from the same household) and will be required to sit 6 feet from the next pair of spectators.
  • There are 6 feet sections that outline all the fences on the football field and in the end zones.  Up to 4 individuals from each household/family may stand in these 6 foot sections.  All sections are separated by 6 feet.
  • No students younger than high school will be allowed to enter unless accompanied and then supervised by a parent/guardian.  All children under the age of high school must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.

Visiting Fans

  • Visiting teams will be allowed 100 spectators.
  • Visiting team fans will be allowed to sit in the visiting bleachers (in pairs and 6 feet apart) and will stand along the fence in front of the bleachers going south towards Route 133.  This section will be roped off.
  • All visiting fans must park in the roped off grass area at the southeast corner of Route 133 and Arcola Avenue.  Parking will also be available along Arcola Avenue.
  • ALL visiting fans should enter at the gate located right by the parking area.
  • ALL visiting fans will use the bathroom located in their section.
  • There will be no concession stand.
  • All visiting fans should remain in their section the entire contest.

Home Fans

  • There will not be a limit on the number of home fans that attend a game.  If the number of fans get to the point where the district is exceeding capacity, adjustments may need to be made.
  • Home fans will NOT be able to park in the grass on the east side of the field.

Indoor Contests in the Junior High Gym – Each Arcola Student Athlete will be allowed two spectators per household per contest that the athlete is on the roster (if she is dressing for the contest).  If a student athlete lives part-time with parents in separate households, that student will be allowed four spectators.  All spectators must sit in pairs meaning they can only be used by individuals that live in the same household. If a parent cannot attend a game, they may give the tickets to people (Grandparents, etc.) but the two people that attend must live in the same household.

  • To enter the contest, the spectators will be required to provide the name of the athlete when they arrive to enter the gym.
  • All spectators must be symptom free from covid-like symptoms.
  • All spectators should enter at the high school entrance.
  • The gym will be cleared between contests
  • There will be no admission fee
  • MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES

Indoor Contests in the High School Gym – Each Arcola Student Athlete can bring an unlimited  amount of household and family members to each contest that the athlete is on the roster (if she is dressing for the contest).  Only members of the same household will be allowed to sit next to each other.  Otherwise, all seating will be 6 feet apart.   Visiting teams will be allowed 2 spectators per rostered athlete for the contest.

  • To enter the contest, the spectators will be required to provide the name of the athlete when they arrive to enter the gym.
  • All spectators must be symptom free from covid-like symptoms.
  • All spectators should enter at the junior-high/cafeteria school entrance.
