Informational sheet on vaccination: Pfizer Vaccine

____________________________________________________________________________________________

DCHD was recently notified it will be receiving 200 doses of the Pfizer vaccine the week of April 12, 2021. This vaccine is approved for use on people age 16 and older. Because of this, we are thinking of using this allotment for 16- and 17-year-old Douglas County residents, assuming there is sufficient interest among that population, and their parents/legal guardians are willing to sign for them.

To that end, would you be willing to distribute this letter and accompanying information on the Pfizer vaccine to the families of students in your district and ask them to indicate (ASAP) if they have interest in their 16- and 17-year-old students being vaccinated with Pfizer?

This is not a certainty, and the exact date, location and times for this potential clinic have not yet been determined, but if we do move forward with this effort we would like to have as much information ahead of time as possible.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in determining level of interest for this effort. It helps us in making the important decisions regarding best use of these valuable vaccines.

Take care,

Colleen Lehmann, public health liaison
