Dear Students and Families,

The administration met with the high school student council members this morning to discuss the Homecoming Coronation and Dance for Saturday evening.  After much discussion and planning, we have reached a decision that we hope will allow the students to still have the “Homecoming Experience” regardless of weather but yet, maintain a safe environment for everyone.

If the weather cooperates, the activities will go on as currently planned.

If the weather does not cooperate, the following will occur:

  • Coronation will be from 7:00 – 7:30 pm in the high school gym
  • There will be a 1-hour modified dance in the gym immediately following coronation.  The dance will last from 7:30 – 8:30 pm.
  • Correct wearing of the mask will be required and students will be asked to leave if they are not wearing the mask appropriately.  By strictly enforcing this, we can significantly reduce potential quarantine situations.
  • All students will be screened for covid-symptoms and have their temperature checked before being allowed in the activities.  If a student is experiencing symptoms, please make the tough decision to not attend the activities.

We want our students to experience homecoming but at the same time, we do not want this event to lead to a loss of future activities because of a Covid-19 outbreak.

We need everyone to work together to allow our students to create wonderful memories while at the same time taking care of each other.

If at any time, the district staff feels that the students are not abiding by the expectations and creating an unsafe environment, the dance/activities will be cancelled.

Sincerely,

Tom Mulligan, Superintendent
