This year several of our students and staff participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Saturday. Despite the frigid winter temperatures they jumped into the icy waters of Lake Sara in Effingham to support our Special Olympic athletes.
Special Olympic coach Ms Beckie also organized a competition between each grade level to raise funds. All of the change collected benefits our athletes of Illinois to participate in future events. Our 8th grade class collected the most change with $191.77 and an overall total of $347.05. It was great to see students and staff come together and show support. The 8th graders will get to celebrate with a pizza party.
