The Arcola School District will again be using a “Late Start” schedule as an option this school year when there is inclement weather. This means that on “Late Start” days school will start at 10 am and end at the regularly scheduled time. The regular bus routes will run two hours later than normal. A “Late Start” will be announced just like any school closing. We will publicize on TV and Radio, as well as send out information on our phone notification system and social media. To assist with transportation concerns, we have partnered with Gould Transportation to provide free in-town bus service on “Late Start” days for students that are not already on a regular route.
Student(s) Already on Bus Route - If you are already on an out of town route or paid in town route, those will run as they always have on those days, except they will pick up two hours later than the regular time. You do NOT need to contact Gould Transportation!
Student(s) Living Over 1.5 Miles from School but Do Not Regularly Ride the Bus - If you live over 1.5 miles from school, your student already is provided the opportunity to ride a bus. If your student does not ride a bus on regular days but wants to be picked up on the “Late Start” days, please contact Gould Transportation at 217-253-2232 and they will be sure your student is picked up on just the “Late Start” days.
Student(s) Living In-Town That Do Not Currently Ride a Bus - If you live where district transportation is NOT currently provided and you are NOT on a paid in-town bus route but would like your student to be transported on “Late Start” days only, please contact Gould Transportation at 217-253-2232 to get signed up.

Estudiante(s) que vive a más de 1.5 millas de la escuela, pero no viaja regularmente en autobús - Si vive a más de 1.5 millas de la escuela, su estudiante ya tiene la oportunidad de viajar en autobús. Si su estudiante no viaja en autobús en días regulares, pero quiere que lo recojan en los días de "Inicio tardío", comuníquese con Gould Transportation al 217-253-2232 y ellos se asegurarán de que su estudiante sea recogido solo en los días de "Inicio tardío".
Estudiante(s) que vive en la ciudad y que actualmente no viaja en autobús - Si vive donde actualmente NO se proporciona transporte del distrito y NO está en una ruta de autobús pagada dentro de la ciudad, pero desea que su estudiante sea transportado solo en los días de "Inicio tardío", comuníquese con Gould Transportation al 217-253-2232 para inscribirse.
