Athletic Events

February 1, 2021

The Arcola School District is excited to announce the IDPH Spectator Policy for all IHSA & IESA extra-curricular events under current IDPH Guidelines.  While we are not going to be able to accommodate all spectators, or even entire families, we will provide an opportunity for all student-athletes to have representation in the crowd.  The following guidelines will be in place and expected to be followed.  Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in an invitation to leave the facility.

Only contests hosted in the Arcola High School Gym will be allowed to have spectators.  Games held in the junior high gym cannot accommodate spectators because of IDPH Guidelines.  Junior high games will be moved to the high school gym if there are no high school games scheduled.

Please note that spectators must be at least 30 feet from the playing surface.  As a result, the seats will be at the top of the bleachers on the south side of the gym.  It will be necessary to go up stairs to get to the seats.

Arcola School District #306 Spectator Guidelines

  • MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES

    • Failure to follow IDPH guidelines will result in immediate removal

  • Event Passes will be distributed by team coaches to players at each playing level

    • Each student athlete will receive two tickets per household.  If a student athlete lives part-time with parents in separate households, that student will receive 4 tickets.  All tickets are in pairs meaning they can only be used by the individuals that live in the same household. If a parent cannot attend a game, they may give the tickets to people (Grandparents, etc.) but the two people that attend must live in the same household.

    • Depending on the number of seats available, additional tickets may be provided to the student athletes.  Again, these additional seats will be in pairs meaning they can only be used by people in the same household.  This availability will be dependent on the number of players on the roster.

  • There will be separate Event Passes for each level (7th, 8th, Fr/JV, Varsity)

  • Spectators will not be allowed into the game without the proper pass/ticket

    • Spectators should not expect entry until 15 minutes prior to scheduled start times, or when the doors are opened for entry

  • Each spectator must present their completed and signed ticket upon entry to the contest.  This will certify the individual is symptom free from covid-like symptoms.

  • The gym will be cleared immediately at the conclusion of the game

    • Spectators for prelim games (7th, Fr/JV) should exit the gym and return to their respective vehicles

    • No gathering in the gym, or outside

    • Please pick up any trash in your area and deposit in the waste receptacles in each balcony.

    • Spectators for the second game of the evening should not begin entry until the fans from the previous game begin leaving the facility.

  • The bleachers/seating areas will be disinfected between games

  • The ONLY Spectator Entrance that should be used is the Cafeteria/Junior High Entrance on Washington Street.

  • After submitting your ticket, please proceed immediately to your assigned seating area and sit on a marked space that is socially distanced from other spectators

    • Remember, only members of the same household may sit together

  • Entrance Doors will remain locked, except for 15 minutes initial entry and will be checked periodically throughout the game by Host management.  Late arrivals are okay, but do not expect immediate entry.

  • No Concessions will be available

  • Restrooms are located in the northwest side of the cafeteria
