Graduation 2020

July 25, 2020

7:00 p.m.

Dear 2020 Graduates and Families:

I have some great news to share with all of you! Arcola High School will be holding a graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 on July 25, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.  The ceremony will take place on the Thomas Bradford Field.

The following guidelines have been approved by the Arcola School Board:

  • Each graduate will be allowed to invite 4 guests to the ceremony.

  • In order to comply with the current guidelines, guests will be provided tickets and will be seated in groups of no more than 50 around the football field with 30 feet between each group.

  • Seats of 4 will be spaced 6 feet apart within each group.  All guests will be randomly assigned a certain location to sit during the ceremony.

  • All guests will be assigned a specific place to park and enter the football field.

  • Graduates will not be allowed to give any of their tickets to a different family.

  • No other spectators will be allowed on school grounds.

  • The ceremony will be aired on Facebook Live for other family members to watch who are not able to attend.

  • The virtual graduation ceremony created by Kris Bott will be released on social media following the July 25th ceremony.

Once the logistics of the event have been completed, event tickets, parking instructions, and event expectations will be mailed to each family and posted online.  It is extremely important that each graduate completes the following form to indicate if they plan to attend the ceremony, how many guests they plan to invite, need for handicap seating/parking, and mailing address.

Students who do not plan to attend the ceremony need to complete the form to schedule a time to drop off their graduation gown and pick up their diploma.

Please complete the following form by Thursday, July 16 at 3:00 p.m.

Graduation Practice:  A short practice will be scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24 for all graduates who plan to attend the ceremony on July 25.  Students should meet at the football field bleachers.  Please be sure to bring a mask with you.

As always, please continue to be safe and practice social distancing!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sigrist
