Mrs. Snyder’s seventh grade students met meteorologist Jacob Dickey today. (So did a few adult employees who stopped in to meet their favorite meteorologist.)
In the fall, Snyder's students learned all about weather, weather forecasting, and even created weather forecast videos themselves. Today they were able to learn from Jacob about snowflakes, ice, the water cycle, tornadoes, and severe weather conditions.
Jacob Dickey is a meteorologist for WCIA. He grew up in Gibson City, where he was a Kidscaster for Arcola High School Alum (Class of 1980) and WCIA weatherman Robert Reese. Dickey studied at the University of Illinois and Mississippi State University.
One of Dickey's favorite things to do is try new restaurants across Central Illinois. While he was in Arcola, he stopped at Vita's. Check out his Facebook post about Vita's shrimp tacos . And Jacob, we wouldn't blame you if you did lick the crumbs off the plate.
