Arcola welcomes Elizabeth Robison as new 7th Grade English Teacher. Elizabeth is a veteran teacher that comes to Arcola from the Windsor School District. Elizabeth will primarily be teaching junior high English but she is also certified to teach high school English and will occasionally be teaching a high school class as well. Elizabeth will be teaching right down the hallway from her sister-in-law Carrie Schutzbach! Welcome to Arcola, Elizabeth.
Arcola welcomes Emily Henderson as the new 5-12 Band and HS Choir teacher. Emily is a recent graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. She grew up in Herscher, Illinois where she was very active in both band and chorus. Emily indicated that she loves the small town feel of Arcola and could immediately see the community support for the fine arts programs here in Arcola. We welcome Emily to the land of the Purple Riders!
Arcola Our Town will happen this Friday, August from 4-8 pm at the Arcola Pavilion. There will be lots of fun for all ages, especially for kids!

- Enter their full legal name (first, middle, and last) as listed on their birth certificate
- Update phone numbers and addresses so that we have the most current information
- Fill out the health information fully and notify Nurse Stenger of any health issues for your student(s)
A few weeks ago, the Arcola School District announced that the school board was considering the construction of a new front entrance area for the elementary school and the remodeling of the hallways in the elementary and cafeteria area. Since that time, a district committee comprised of administrators, teachers, support staff professionals and building staff have conducted several meetings to discuss what exactly would be needed in the project if it were to move forward. The Special Olympics law enforcement torch run will come through Arcola this year tomorrow June 5. It will start for our athletes at unity motors at the 4-way and go to Casey’s. The torch should arrive here between 5:45-6pm. We are proud to have at least 3 of our athletes participating. Please come out to Rt 45 and support our athletes!

Teachers talking about why Arcola Elementary is a pioneer in teaching Fountas and Pinnell reading
The Arcola School District is looking for full-time custodial work this summer. Hours will be 6:30 am – 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. Employment could turn into full-time afternoon shift (3 – 11 pm) once school starts if the individuals are interested (this is not required). Arcola seniors MJ Alanis and Alec Downs had the opportunity to meet Mr. Andrew Libman today at the Libman Company office. MJ and Alec were the winners of the Libman Company annual scholarship for 2019.
