Arcola will be joining schools around the country In turning the lights on to honor our seniors tonight at 8:20 PM. The lights will remain on for 20 minutes. 8:20 PM is 2020 military time. Feel free to come park and stay in the car to enjoy this.

Senior Strong Spotlight Name: Selah Brimner Activities during high school: Dance Team for three years, Musical for two years, Drama for one year, FFA for one, NHS for three years, Cheer for one year, and track for one year. Favorite memory during high school: My favorite memory was Senior Night at the basketball game when we got our “Spirit Animals” from our cheer coach and I felt the love from my teammates and coaches as we had our final hoorah together as a squad. Activities or hobbies outside of school: I have a passion for dancing and have been dancing since I was three years old. In addition, I love spending time with my family and participating in church activities. Plans after high school: I plan to attend Anderson University in Indiana. I want to study Social Work and have thought about becoming a foster mother.

Favorite memory during high school: Winning 3 years in a row for Ag Olympics or going to National Convention for FFA. Activities or hobbies outside of school: Lots of soccer. Plans after high school: Go to Parkland then transfer to EIU in pursue the field of Kinesiology.

Senior Spotlight Name: Lyssa Madlem Activities during high school: Volleyball, Softball, AFS, Drama Club, NAHS, FCCLA, Rider Nation, and Community Service. Favorite memory during high school: Being able to go to CEO each morning with great friends. Activities or hobbies outside of school: Hanging with friends and playing with my sisters. Plans after high school: I plan on going to ISU to major in Business Administration and hopefully open my own bakery.

If you ordered track apparel from the fundraiser, it will be available for pickup at the high school entrance from 10am-noon on Friday. This will be drive up only. Please do not exit your vehicle. Coaches will be there to hand out to you. Stay safe!!

Senior Strong Spotlight ✨ Name: Gabriella Hopkins Activities during high school: Class President (12th), Student Council (12th), Class Treasurer (11th) Favorite memory during high school: Prom 2018! It was my first prom and favorite prom! It was a time to have fun with friends and my boyfriend and dance all night! Then stay up until the next morning to go to six flags! That was my first time going to six flags and is when I discovered I did not like roller coasters! I still had lots of fun though and is my favorite memory from high school! Activities or hobbies outside of school: I spend most of my time outside of school working at DQ making ice cream! Plans after high school: After high school I plan to attend Parkland College where I hope to join the nursing program and become a Registered Nurse. After that I plan to do some extra schooling to become a Psychiatrist Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I hope to still live in Arcola throughout my schooling and start my own family as well!

Our district staff will be participating in a PARADE OF CARS to greet students from afar because 1) we miss you; 2) we want to show our unity as a district and community. Our fire and police departments will even escort us! Look for us this FRIDAY, MARCH 27th starting at 10:00 AM! Wave from your windows or step out on the porch. If you do not live along the route, you are encouraged to drive or walk to the route. (Just remember social distancing and either remain in your vehicles or stay at least 6 feet apart from others.)
