Arcola High School is pleased to announce the DAR/SAR Good Citizen winners for this school year. The DAR winner is Alayna Johns and the SAR winner is Myles Roberts.

Body Electric and Sarah Bush Lincoln are sponsoring CYBERGUIDE FOR PARENTS WITH DETECTIVE RICHARD WISTOCKI on Wednesday, November 7th from 6 to 8 pm in the Charleston High School Auditorium. This FREE event will include topics such as cyber-bullying, online gaming dangers, social media dangers, phone applications, and file & video sharing. The presenter, Richard Wistocki, is a Cyber Crimes Detective with 30+ years of experience.

Following a competitive audition process, fourteen Arcola junior high and high school students have been selected to take part in the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 5 Festivals for jazz, choir, and orchestra.
Selected for Junior Choir were: Fatima Cabrera, Andy Castro and Aaron Gaona; Junior Band: Eadie Budd (flute), Izzy Hensley (flute), Jake Myers (tuba), Rey Oyervides (clarinet) and Aden York (flute). Selected for Senior Choir were: Taylor Brown and Kenyon Byard; Senior Treble Choir: Aileen Acosta and Olivia Key; Senior Jazz Band: Myles Bott (tenor saxophone); and Senior Orchestra: Braedyn Edwards (percussion).
Members of the ILMEA choirs and bands will each attend an all day rehearsal, where they will prepare music selections for concerts held in the evening. Admission to each concert is $5 and is open to the public. The Jazz Festival will be held held November 5th at 5:45 pm at Doudna Fine Arts Center on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. The Concert Festival will be held November 18th also on the campus of EIU, concert times and locations are as follows:
4:30 pm - Junior Choir in Union Grand Ballroom
5:00 pm - Junior Band in Dvorak Concert Hall
5:30 pm - Senior Treble Choir in Doudna Theater
6:00 pm - Senior Orchestra in Dvorak Concert Hall
6:30 pm - Senior Choir in Union Grand Ballroom
Based on their audition scores, later this fall the students (grades 10-12) will learn if they have qualified to perform at the ILMEA All-State Conference held in Peoria in January 2019. The junior high choir director is Mrs. Ronda Reinhart, and junior high band, high school choir and high school band is under the direction of Mr. Eric Mueller.

Revised broadcast information for Saturday's football game. Purple Rider fans, please tune into WWGO 92.1 on Saturday with the pregame starting fifteen minutes prior to kick off. The game can also be heard via myradiolink.com and on the free myradiolink app (for those who may want to listen in their car while at the game). Sorry for any confusion, but this is local radio station that will be broadcasting the game for the Purple Riders.

The Arcola High School volleyball team would like to take this time to thank all those that helped make our Pink Out Night such a success. We were able to donate $1300 to Mills Breast Cancer Institute in Champaign. We would like to thank all the volleyball girls and their families for their amazing donations to our raffle.
