I wanted to send out a few reminders about iPad returns that will occur next Tuesday and Wednesday. Please follow these steps prior to coming to turn in your student(s) iPad and other tech items. These instructions are for all grade levels. I've included a picture for reference.
1. be sure students are not logged into iTunes on their iPad. Most students will not be logged into iTunes, but some of the upper grades might me.
2. If there is no sticker on the iPad with the student name, please tape a paper to the device with the student name on it if possible.
3. place both parts of the charger (the cord and the wall adapter) in a ziplock bag with the student name and current grade year on it.
4. place the iPad and the baggie with the charger in a large ziplock bag or brown paper bag with the student name and current grade year on the outside of the bag.
5. Jr. Sr. High students please leave your Apple Pencil in the slot on your iPad case.
6. If iPads are broken in any way, please email me and let me know what the issue is. jhohlbauch@arcolaschools.com
At this point you should be ready to turn in iPad's to school. I appreciate your help with this process and if you have any questions please email jhohlbauch@arcolaschools.com

Parents please be patient with us as we work through any kinks we find in this new remote learning adventure. In an effort to make it easier for students to access the list of teachers from their student iPad I have added an icon to the iPad's which is linked directly to the file we sent out earlier today and that we posted on the website. The icon will have the picture that is shown with this post. The student iPad must be connected to WiFi for this new icon to download.

Remote Learning starts today! Please find your teacher links below to get started. If you run into any issues with accessing anything please email agentry@arcolaschools.com or jhohlbauch@arcolaschools.com.

Hello, AES students and families,
We will start remote learning on Thursday with some new procedures and expectations as a result.
Our faculty and staff have worked very hard to develop plans and procedures with students' and families' best interests in mind. Our intent is to make this a smooth process which is easy to navigate, but we are sure to have some glitches. Please be patient as we try to perfect all of the pieces, but don't hesitate to reach out if you are experiencing difficulties. While sending a private message via Facebook is one way to contact us, you might get a quicker response through email if that is an option for you.
We are working on some final details, but please be watching for more information. We are looking forward to more interaction with our students!
Sincerely, Mrs. Gentry and the AES Team

Due to safety measures, and staff working from home, if you receive a phone call from “Phoenix Arizona” it is likely the school contacting you. As previously mentioned, you are still able to call the school, but please leave a voicemail, and you will be contacted quickly. Thank you.

The Arcola School District has posted the Remote Learning Plan at the following link http://www.arcola.k12.il.us/article/223841?org=arcola-cusd. Each building will be sharing building-specific information later today.

Based on the “shelter-in-place” announcement, schools will be closed through April 7. I will be providing more updates to everyone once we know more specifics. We will be continuing to provide meal service to families that need it. Contact dgood@arcolaschools.com to add meals.

Consolidated Communications is coming through for our students during these challenging times. Please see the flyer attached for their offer of 2 free months of Internet for students that currently do not have access to Internet at their home.

As of right now, both the elementary and high school offices will be staffed from 8 to 11 am and 12 to 3 pm daily with the exception of spring break days (March 19, 20 and 23) and of course weekends.Call if you need assistance. Also, teachers can be reached by email.

If students forget their Gmail password during this closure, please email Mrs. Hohlbauch (jhohlbauch@arcolaschools.com) and she can respond back with your password.

This is a reminder that the Arcola School District will be providing daily meal service for students during the mandated school closure. Meals will be provided daily each day of the week (not weekends) from Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, March 30. We STRONGLY recommended you sign up for this service by completing this form https://forms.gle/eivDpGc33B5RE55z5. If you do not sign up and suddenly need meals, come anyway. Meals can be picked between 10 am and 11 am each day. You will simply pull up to the junior high/cafeteria entrance off of Washington Street and the meals will be provided to you. If you cannot pick up the meals, be sure to indicate that on the form. On March 17, students will receive breakfast and lunch for Tuesday, the 17th and breakfast for Wednesday, the 18th. Each day following, they will receive lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day. If you have any questions regarding meal service contact Diane Good at dgood@arcolaschools.com or call at 217-268-4963.
